Items we can pick up from you to be recycled!

We want to help make recycling easy and accessible for everyone.
That's why we have signed up to several of the recycling programs offered by TerraCycle, an innovative recycling company that has become a global leader in recycling hard-to-recycle waste.
What can be recycled through Terracycle?:
IMPORTANT: Please ensure as much product is out of the packaging as possible.
  • Oral Care: toothpaste tubes and caps, manual toothbrushes, electric toothbrush heads, floss containers.
  • Electric Toothbrushes: electric toothbrush handles (must be flat and empty of charge), electric toothbrush bases, sonic battery powered toothbrushes, battery powered toothbrushes.
  • Razors: all brands of blades and razors, including refillable and disposable products, replaceable blade cartridge units.
  • Dish and Air Care: dishwashing tablets flexible packaging (including snap locks and zip locks), plastic spray bottles (including spray and trigger heads), air fresheners and refills (including plug-ins and plastic outer packaging), air freshener aerosol cans, clip-on car fresheners and refills (including plastic outer packaging).
  • Writing Instruments: pens, felt tips, mechanical pencils, markers, highlighters, correction tape and fluid pots, fountain pens and their ink cartridges.
  • Beauty Products: Any brand of cosmetic, hair care, or skin care packaging including items such as tubes, jars, lotion bottles, make-up and cosmetics packaging (excluding nail polish or remover, hair dye, and perfumes).


As well as items that go to TerraCycle, we also collect the following:

  • Mobile phones, mobile chargers, mobile accessories
    • Recycled through Mobile Muster.
  • Metal lids, such as bottle tops and pasta sauce lids, and metal odds and ends, such as empty mint containers and sparkling wine tops
    • Recycled at the Geelong Resource Recovery Centre.
  • Batteries
    • Recycled at the Geelong Resource Recovery Centre.
  • DVD disks and CD's and their packaging
    • Recycled at Geelong Council Customer Service Centres.
  • Energy saving light bulbs
    • Recycled at the Geelong Resource Recovery Centre.
  • Printer cartridges and toner
    • Recycled at Officeworks
  • Plastic bread tags
    • Sent to a local primary school who is collecting these to be sent away to make wheelchairs
